For many years I worked as a Money Advisor and an integral part of my job was to assist clients, who were struggling to manage their finances, to collate their budget sheets. These budget sheets would reflect their incomings and outgoings, and from there, they were able to plan ahead for their future with a clear picture of their personal finances. Suddenly, they found they had options; which was part of the advice I'd given them based on the outcome of their budget sheet, but I would never tell them which option to take; it had to be their decision. I could see they were ready to conquer their fears as they were ready to see their finances, in black and white, recorded on the page as they had already taken their first positive steps by seeking advice. This had taken courage as they felt ready, some of them after many years, to end that period of self-doubt in their ability to take the steps to reach their goals which were to get their finances under control and live a more comfortable lifestyle free from the constant worry and torment of living with debts. During that time I was asked these questions many times, in different ways by people I knew, and met outside of work, who hadn't had the benefit of seeing their own personal budget sheet in clear facts and figures; why is it that I'm constantly struggling to pay my bills no matter how hard I work, and regardless of how much I earn, and why is it that all I can see is; it's the rich who always prosper? My answer was simple. Firstly: the savvy rich know what income they have coming in and what money they spend, and secondly: unless they had a constant stream of money coming in, many of them didn't live as if they were rich. If they did, their money wouldn't last long. Believe it or not, they were actually living below their means and comfortably so. Anyone can use a budget sheet, whatever their income, and when their financial information is recorded accurately, it can allow a person to make decisions, and make positive changes to their finances, which will enable them to live much more comfortably than they would ever think possible. In fact, there are many people who are millionaires and you would never guess, as they don't ever discuss their income, or live lavish lifestyles, as they don't find the need to do this, but they do live adequately comfortable lives, and this is fact; they know what money they have coming in and they know how much money is going out. This book was written with you, the reader in mind, if you believe you have to be rich in order to live a comfortable lifestyle. Now more than ever before as people worldwide experience the devastating effects of the Corona Virus pandemic on their personal finances and their ability to manage on whatever income they have due to its effects on the world's economies, understanding your personal budget, good money managements skills, and finding ways to increase, and spend your income in a positive way is essential and this book will show you how.The information I give also details my experience of managing my money before, and for a while after I trained and worked as a Money Advisor. It also includes the experience of my family and friends, and it has examples of costly mistakes, we could all make, and how to avoid them. Until I worked in this field, I hadn't realized the effects my spending habits had had on my own finances until I woke up one morning, completed my own budget sheet and found that I would find myself in serious financial difficulties if I continued to spend as if I were a millionaire with an endless stream of money at my fingertips.
